Since its inception in 1968, the Seiko 5 Sports collection of watches has been with known for their reliability and value. The SRPJ87 was officially released in March 2023 and has yet to hit shelves in New Zealand.

The case measures 36mm wide and 12.5mm thick, making it a great option for everyday and weekend wear as a sports watch. The champagne dial glimmers in various light with an inner hours section and outer minute tracking. A day/date window can be found at 3 o'clock and can be quickset via the oversized pilot's crown. Even in low light conditions, the time of day hands and indexes have a profuse layer of Lumi Brite for legibility.

The watch is housed in a full stainless steel case with a curved hardlex crystal protecting the dial. Mounted on a muted grey calf skin leather strap it allows the watch to fully be the showpiece. Furthermore, a sapphire exhibition caseback enables wearers to view the 4R34 movement. The movement has a power reserve of 41 hours and can be manually wound.
