Overall, the watch is in excellent condition and ready for its next owner. The brown sunburst dial is in superb shape, showing no visible blemishes, and features applied 18k yellow gold hour markers and Mercedes hands, filled with bright Super-LumiNova for strong low-light visibility. The date window is positioned cleanly at 3 o’clock, and the dial is signed 'Swiss Made' below the 6 o'clock marker, consistent with early 2000s production. The sapphire crystal is clean and clear, with only minor wear visible under close inspection.

The 40mm stainless steel case with solid 18k yellow gold accents is in great shape, having seen only light polishing in its lifetime. It retains thick lugs and sharp bevels, with only faint surface wear from normal use. The Triplock crown at 3 o’clock screws down securely, maintaining the GMT’s 100m water resistance. The bidirectional rotating bezel is fitted with its original brown and gold aluminium insert, in excellent condition with rich colour and minimal signs of wear — a true highlight of the “Root Beer” aesthetic.

The watch is fitted with its original two-tone 78793A Oyster bracelet, featuring '701' solid endlinks and a flip-lock clasp. Speaking of the clasp it is stamped 'DT', noting a 2002 production date. The bracelet is in great condition with minimal stretch and comes with 10 links, fitting up to a 7 inch wrist.

Finally, the watch’s Y-serial dates it to 2002, during the last era of the 16713 before it was replaced by the six-digit ceramic bezel models. This example is powered by the Rolex Caliber. 3185, an automatic movement with independently adjustable GMT hand and a power reserve of approximately 50 hours. The watch is performing extremely well and is currently running at +1 second per day.
