Overall, the watch is in excellent condition. The dial is in excellent condition with minimal wear, 18k white gold hour markers are present with tritium material filled. Positioned at 3 o'clock is the date window, and just below the 6 o'clock marker, you'll find the tagline 'Swiss-T< 25'. The sapphire crystal, a later edition, is in excellent condition with minor scratches around the cyclops.

The case has likely only been polished once or twice and currently sees minimal hairline scratches around the bezel and case sides. The crown, located at 3 o'clock, can be wound smoothly and operates without any resistance - there is also the ability to independently adjust the GMT hand.

The Oyster 78360 bracelet is in excellent condition with some minor hairline scratches. It accommodates large wrist sizes since its full 12 links are provided. The clasp code is "V1" indicating a 1996 bracelet, correct for this watch's serial number.

Finally, the watch's "W747XXX" serial number, indicates a production date of 1995. This watch is in full running condition at +7 seconds per/day. Accompanying the watch is a period correct box, Explorer booklet, Rolex Your Oyster booklet, Rolex swing tag, translation booklet and Rolex green leather wallet.

History

Featuring a 24-hour hand and a fixed bezel, it was tailored to assist spelunkers and Arctic adventurers in maintaining their bearings, especially in environments where distinguishing between day and night could be challenging. Although resembling a GMT watch with its distinctive arrow-shaped fourth hand and steel bezel, its functionality differed significantly. Unlike the Rolex GMT-Master, the bezel was stationary and the 24-hour hand was not independently adjustable from the primary time (although this feature was later incorporated in subsequent versions).

The Explorer II is an all encompassing sports watch and has been apart of Rolex's line up since 1971. Sitting at 40mm in diameter, 47mm lug to lug and 12.2mm in thickness it will look right at home on various wrist sizes. The watch is also water resistant to 150m. Powering the watch is Rolex's Caliber. 3185, it allows for quickly setting the date and hour which fully harnesses the GMT function for traveling.
