Overall, the watch is in great condition. The champagne pie-pan dial is in excellent condition with minimal wear present. It features applied baton hour markers along with thin baton-style hands that match the tone of the case beautifully. Positioned at 12 o'clock is the day window, and at 3 o'clock is the date window, with the dial correctly signed ‘T Swiss T’ just below the 6 o'clock marker. The plexiglass crystal is in good condition with only minor surface marks and light scratches around the edges.

The fluted 18k yellow gold bezel retains its sharpness and plays beautifully in the light, offering a slightly softer, more refined tone compared to contemporary gold models. The 36mm case, with no visible lug holes, is in great shape for its age, showing only light hairline scratches and minor scuffs. It has likely been polished in the past, but the original case geometry remains well preserved. The hallmarks on the caseback are still clearly visible and well-defined. The screw-down crown at 3 o’clock winds smoothly and operates without resistance.

Currently, the watch is paired with a Wynn & Thayne x Molequin strap and a polished gold-tone buckle. An 18k yellow gold Rolex buckle can be supplied upon request for those seeking a period-correct finish.

Powering the watch is the Rolex Caliber 1556, an automatic movement with a 48-hour power reserve, hacking seconds, and smooth time-setting functionality. It is currently running at -2 seconds per day.

Finally, the watch’s 401XXXX serial number places production in approximately 1975, marking it as a mid-70s example of one of Rolex’s most enduring and iconic models.
