The SBGS0001 was the first Grand Seiko made by Seiko after the GS line was resurrected in 1988. The 95GS is the first family of Grand Seiko quartz movements. The 9581 caliber was (and still is) one of Seiko's highest rated quartz calibers with an accuracy of +/- 10s /year. A total of nine 95GS references were produced. Every part of the watches was manufactured in-house, including the quartz crystals, grown in Seiko’s own facilities.

The example we have for sale is in excellent condition with little to no wear present on the watch. It features a warm champagne sunburst dial with steel spear shaped hour and minute hands. The bevelled design of the case gives the watch a very elegant look and definitely fits within the design language or vintage and modern Grand Seiko. Because of its quartz movement the watch sits low in profile and its 33mm diameter allows it to be subtle on the wrist. Below 12 o'clock there is an applied "Seiko" logo, and above 6 o'clock there is a "Grand Seiko" logo. The crown is also signed with "GS" and winds smooth. There is minor wear on the crystal and the watch comes on aftermarket black leather strap.
