As one of our favourite reference numbers this Rolex Datejust 1603 from 1970 is a true example of less is more. For starters this matte black dial is breathtaking in various lights, it casts anywhere from black to a muted grey and it always wants you starting at it to guess the shade. At the end of each stick hour marker are subtlety aged cream round markers (hour blobs) that bring warmth to this piece. The Caliber 1570 with its non quickset date will keep you wearing this on your wrist for years to come. Pair it with a black leather strap for a more formal look or keep it on its original Jubilee bracelet for versatility. Needless to say this is truly one the greatest Datejust's we've come across.

Personal Comments:
The Datejust is one of the most easiest to wear watches - the ability to pair this from a double breasted suit to even sweatpants while making a grocery run concludes it is the perfect companion for anyone. I personally believe a vintage Datejust is a must have for any collector to own or for anyone looking for their first Rolex.
