This Omega Chronostop reference 145.009 is from the late 60's. It is in great condition considering its age. It features original parts such as the hands, case, leather strap, clasp, crown and pushers. The case measures 34.5mm, perfect for the vintage watch enthusiast.
Condition Report:
The dial is original with "T Swiss Made T" present under 6 o'clock, the "Geneve" signature under the centre and racing minute tracking around the edge of the dial. The original tritium plops at the edge of the hour markers and within the 12 o'clock hour market have developed a soft creamy patina. The caseback, movement, and crown are all signed by Omega. The burgundy leather strap is original to the watch and features the Omega signed deployant clasp. Throughout the watch there are only minor hairline scratches on the case. The case has seen no evidence of polishing due to the brushed nature of the case being prevalent. The plexiglass crystal is clean and sees little dust or wear. The movement featured in this watch is the manually wound Cal. 865. The watch is currently running and functions normally.
Omega Chronostop History:
First launched in 1966 using the Omega in-house Cal. 865 the Chronostop was a new generation of chronograph. Intended to be the more affordable and youthful alternative to the Speedmaster, with its variety of colours and smaller size. It features a 60 second chronograph in which one button both starts, stops and resets the running second hand.
