Given the success of IWC's TOP GUN collection, it comes as no surprise that IWC has expanded the collection to include the Ref. IW503008, a white ceramic perpetual calendar, integrating this popular case material with its signature complications. Enthusiasts of the perpetual calendar can expect an extremely desirable watch, as the dial design adheres to a well-established and successful formula. The overall aesthetic impact, however, is remarkable. The contrast between the matte black dial and the white ceramic elevates the typically elegant complication to a sportier and more contemporary level.
At a large a diameter of 46.5mm and a height of 15.6mm, the Lake Tahoe exhibits a marginal increase in thickness compared to the standard Big Pilot’s Perpetual Calendar in steel or gold, with the case dimensions expanding by 0.3mm and the thickness by 0.6mm. Apart from the colour variation, the overall design composition closely mirrors that of the standard Big Pilot’s Perpetual Calendar, complete with the distinctive "onion" crown positioned at three o'clock.
The pristine white case delivers a bold visual contrast against the matte black dial, which features hour and minute hands coated with white Super-Luminova. All indicators, including the four-digit year disc positioned between seven and eight o'clock, along with the moon phases, maintain a consistent white hue. On the flip side of the timepiece, the Caliber. 52615 takes center stage, showcasing the Pellaton winding system and twin barrels, collectively ensuring an impressive seven-day power reserve.
